NROL + HIIT = TBD
I just received my copy of New Rules of Lifting, which I’ve noticed a lot of people on the MH forums have been raving about. I’ve also just added 3 sessions of High Intensity Interval Training per week to my workouts.
The thing is, I’ve been attending bootcamp religiously for over 8 months now, and while I’m in just about the best aerobic shape I’ve been in since my college sports days, I’m still carrying about 15-20 pounds that I’d like to lose. I think that maybe my body has adapted to the steady-state runs, core and resistance exercises we do in class, and needs to be shocked a little bit in order to resume the fat-burning process.
So, my plan is to add the NROL workouts on the end of the bootcamp workouts. We’ve started doing HIIT in bootcamp this week, so I’m hoping the combination will do the trick.
This morning, I weighed in at 221.4, with 25.5%BF, which is actually up from where I started the Summer 52DC a week ago. I know these numbers fluctuate, so I shouldn’t get overly concerned if I hit a plateau, but on the other hand, I think I work too friggin’ hard in bootcamp to not see more fat coming off. I’ll post again in two weeks with an update on thoughts and progress with my NROL+HIIT experiment.
There is nothing worse than working hard and seeing no results. I think we’ve all had that happen to us at some point… keep at it though!
